HISTORY!
The RIPCORDZ officially became a band in the summer of 1988, thus proving them as far more than the average band desperately trying (yet failing miserably) to revive Punk Rock as it was in it's heyday in the 80's. During their career, they've performed in several cross-Canada tours, released 5 full-length LP's (including the recent release "Re-Cordz", a collection of their best songs which doubles as a CD ROM), several EP's, and appeared on numerous compilation recordings, not to mention a few self-produced video's under their belt.

The RIPCORDZ are referred to by many as a political band, as a lot of their songs focus on Canadian events and culture. For example, the song "Goodbye, So Long, Get Lost" is about former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulrooney (and if you're familiar with recent Canadian history, you'll know that he wasn't exactly the most popular guy in the country), and "New Song" was written of past leader of the former Soviet Union, Mikhail Gorbechev, a man who Gott said had basically "good intentions". Don't let this article fool you however. The RIPCORDZ material isn't strictly political, and they focus on as wide a subject matter as any other band.
